In fall, Dwight Harvest Days is a weekend-long festival with food vendors, carnival rides, kiddie parade, car show, and craft fest. Dwight does the holiday season right with a fabulous Christmas Parade featuring lighted floats and bands. Summer brings the weekly farmers' market and free movie screenings at Second Saturday Cinema.
Perhaps the most amusing event in Dwight is the Basset Waddle, when Basset Hound owners from across the Midwest gather to celebrate these quirky dogs. Basset Hounds running the 50-yard dash is truly a sight to behold!
For such a small town, Dwight is big in architectural history. Dwight has four buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places: The Dwight Railroad Depot; The John R. Oughton House; The Pioneer Gothic Church; and Ambler's Texaco Gas Station. Dwight is also home to a bank designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and Renfrew Park, designed by noted landscape architect Ossian Cole Simonds.
